Portal Chara Tech has built motors for use in two-wheeler, three and four-wheeler light commercial vehicles and in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) sector.
Their web site claims that theirs is a "(Switch) Reluctance motors and controllers developed from first principles for efficiency, performance and sustainability."
The startup's technology has done away with rare earth magnets, resulting in both lower costs and lower dependence on imports - especaially rare earth mineral imports from China.
An interesting deep tech startup indeed.
