As a run-up to CLINCH June 2024 contest by CLIMAFIX.

We provide a daily challenge to all the participants of CLINCH June 2024, in the run-up to the June 2024 edition. The challenge is usually a brief question around climate action, to which the contestants need to provide a brief but well-thought-out answer.

The winner for that day will be given the Climate Brain title for the day.

The challenge for May 27 was:

The 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫-𝐮𝐩 for May 27 is:

Shikha Gupta – from PSIT Kanpur (Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology)

Her answer:

“To promote public transport, we will expand and enforce dedicated bus lanes, ensuring faster and more reliable travel times. This will make buses a more attractive option by reducing delays caused by traffic congestion. Additionally, we will develop strategically located park-and-ride facilities near major transit hubs, allowing commuters to conveniently park their vehicles and switch to public transport. This approach will improve accessibility and encourage more people to use public transport for the majority of their journey, reducing overall traffic and pollution while enhancing the efficiency and appeal of our public transportation system.”

Congrats Shikha, and may you scale greater heights.
